The purpose of this field visit was to gain insights into the operations, programs, and impact of ‘UMED Pariwar’ an organization dedicated to supporting mentally retarded adults. This report outlines observations, interactions, and findings from the visit.
The students’ observations highlighted the NGO’s commitment to providing quality care and support for mentally retarded adults. Despite facing certain challenges, the organization effectively manages to create a nurturing and empowering environment for its residents. The visit offered meaningful learning experiences for the students and underscored the importance of continued support and development in the field of disability services


Message of Peace & Non-violence on Buddha Purnima
On the auspicious occasion of Buddha Purnima, celebrated on 10th May 2025, the students of Suryadatta Junior College enthusiastically organized a meaningful program at the college premises, spreading the timeless message of peace, love, non-violence, patience, and kindness inspired by Lord Buddha’s teachings.
Daksh Kahat of Std. XII Commerce set the tone with a compelling speech on the Significance of Buddha Purnima, followed by Saanvi Mattigatti, who beautifully narrated the transformational journey of Lord Buddha from Prince to Saint, captivating the audience with a spiritual ambiance.
The highlight of the event was an engaging skit on the anecdote of Buddha’s life, focusing on the story of Angulimaal, which left a strong impact on the students by illustrating the power of compassion and redemption.
Another skit on “The Relevance of Buddha’s Teachings in Today’s Time” reinforced the values of wisdom, morality, and mindfulness, making the event a memorable and enlightening experience for all.
Maharashtra Day: A Tribute to Heritage and Pride
Maharashtra state came into existence on 1st May 1960, following the reorganization of states on linguistic lines, and since then, Maharashtra Day is celebrated every year with pride and enthusiasm. The day also coincides with International Labour Day, symbolizing the spirit of hard work and unity.
This year, the occasion was celebrated with immense honor and respect by the young and dynamic students of Suryadatta Junior College, who represent the promising future and responsible leadership of our nation.
The celebration was not just ceremonial but deeply cultural and educational. The program featured a wide array of activities highlighting:
- The significance of Maharashtra Day and its historical background
- The rich cultural heritage and vibrant traditions of the state
- The beauty and uniqueness of the Marathi language
- Traditional Maharashtrian attire and folk arts
- The glory of Maharashtra’s past, including its valor, resilience, and contributions to India
- Tributes to eminent social reformers, visionary activists, and revered saints who shaped the identity and values of Maharashtra
This year’s theme was centered on “Presenting the Pride of Maharashtra” – a heartfelt tribute to the spirit, culture, and legacy of the state. The event left a lasting impact on the students, instilling a sense of pride in their roots and a commitment to uphold the values inherited from Maharashtra’s great leaders.
English Day Celebration at Suryadatta Junior College
Suryadatta Junior College celebrated English Language Day with great enthusiasm under the guidance of the English faculty. The event aimed to promote the importance of English in the global world while encouraging creativity, confidence, and literary interest among students.
The celebration began with the National Anthem, followed by a speech by Arabella Choytooa highlighting the global relevance of English. Students presented impressive performances, including a skit from The Merchant of Venice, poetry recitations, and a dynamic quiz session hosted by Anuj Shingote and Saniya Roy. A special skit based on Shakespeare’s Hamlet showcased students’ acting skills, narrated by faculty Mrs. Prachi Kelkar and concluded insightfully by Principal Mrs. Vandana Pandey.
The event also featured an energetic dance performance, an interactive vocabulary game, a book reading exhibition, and inspiring speeches by Principal Dr. Kiran Rao and senior faculty. The celebration provided students with a platform to overcome stage fear, embrace teamwork, and deepen their love for literature.
Dr. Sanjay B. Chordiya and Mrs. Snehal Navalakha praised and encouraged students to explore English literature further.
National Anti-Ragging Day 2025 @ Suryadatta Physiotherapy College
Suryadatta Institute of Health Sciences College of Physiotherapy observed National Anti-Ragging Day on 12th August 2025 under the guidance of Founder Chairman Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordia and Principal Dr. Seemi Retharekar.
The program highlighted Suryadatta’s zero-tolerance policy towards ragging through student interactions and a short awareness film. The institute remains committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and compassionate learning environment.
Multidisciplinary Health Camp at PHC, Mutha
Suryadatta institute of Health Science College of Physiotherapy, Bavdhan, in collaboration with Deoyani Multispeciality Hospital, organized a free health camp at PHC, Mutha. Over 40 villagers received expert care in Physiotherapy, Orthopedics, Gynecology & Cardiology. Led by Dr. Sridhar Shirodkar with support from PHC Mutha and Deoyani specialists, the camp offered both community service and hands-on learning for students under the guidance of Hon. Chairman Dr. Sanjay B. Chordia.
SIHS Celebrates Raksha Bandhan with Dr. Cyrus Poonawalla School of Hearing Impaired
Students of Suryadatta Institute of Health Science (SIHS) celebrated Raksha Bandhan with the bright and talented students of Dr. Cyrus Poonawalla School of Hearing Impaired. The celebration was filled with warmth as SIHS students tied rakhis, exchanged sweets, and shared heartfelt moments of joy. The students of Physiotherapy course observed World Asthma Day 2025 with a meaningful awareness program organized by the Department of Cardiovascular and Respiratory Physiotherapy at SIHS COP.
This year’s global theme, “Make Inhaled Treatments Accessible for ALL,” set the tone for the event. As part of the initiative, a poster-making competition was organized for Physiotherapy students. Through their creative and informative posters, students shared valuable messages about asthma — its signs, symptoms, triggers, and essential steps to take during an asthma attack. The displays aimed to raise awareness and promote better understanding of asthma care in the community.
The exhibition was inaugurated at the hands of Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordiya, Founder President and Chairman of SEF. He appreciated the students’ efforts and encouraged them to continue conducting such activities and highlighted the importance of healthcare awareness in building a healthier society. He shared an inspiring message, “Do your bit to eradicate asthma in the coming decade — every effort matters”.
Free Health Check-up Camp at Kule, Maharashtra
A free health check-up camp was organized by the NSS unit at Kule, Maharashtra, with the objective of promoting health awareness, offering free medical consultations, and highlighting the importance of routine health check-ups among the local community. Students and faculty members of SIHSCOP actively participated in the camp and assessed over 30 patients. The initiative not only served the health needs of the community but also provided a valuable opportunity for students to engage in meaningful community service and hands-on learning.

A free health check-up camp was conducted at Aundh Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) with the aim of enhancing health awareness and providing essential medical consultations to the public. Students and faculty members of SIHSCOP participated actively, and assessed over 20 patients during the camp. The event emphasized the significance of preventive healthcare and offered students a platform to apply their clinical knowledge in a real-world setting while contributing meaningfully to community well-being.

Prof. Dr. Chordiya encouraged the students to continue conducting such activities and highlighted the importance of healthcare awareness in building a healthier society. He shared an inspiring message, saying, “Do your bit to eradicate asthma in the coming decade — every effort matters.”
Dr. Seemi Retharekar, Principal, SIHSCOP, and a Cardiopulmonary Physiotherapist by qualification addressed the gathering and spoke about the important role of physiotherapists in asthma management and respiratory care. She praised the students for their enthusiastic participation and the department for organizing the program.
The event was coordinated by the department faculty — Dr. Rajkiran Tiku, Dr. Anjali Bais, and Dr. Manasi Deshmukh — who guided the students in preparing their exhibits and ensured the event was informative and well-organized.
Dr Chordiya concluded the program with an ‘Oath for the Eradication of Asthma,’ where all students and faculty pledged to spread awareness and contribute towards asthma prevention, control and management. A step towards Asthma eradication.
This initiative not only enhanced students’ academic learning but also encouraged them to actively participate in community health awareness.
La Classe Runway Show 2025
Suryadatta Institute of Fashion Technology had organized the 13th Annual Runway Fashion Show “La Classe” on the 7th of June 2025 at Suryadatta Group of Institutes, Bavdhan Campus, Pune to promote budding designers to display their creativity as well as an equal opportunity for the models to showcase their talent in terms of boosting their confidence and thus contributing to our goal as an organization.
Every year, the La Classe is based on a uniue theme. This year’s theme was ‘Fusion of Cultures’. The seven unique concepts were developed based on the main theme as, Indian Mythology Meets Global Folklore, Tribal India Meets Global Street wear , Festivals of India With a Twist, India Meets the World, Bollywood Meets Hollywood, Royal Legacy–A Global Blend, Heritage Crafts in Contemporary Form. Each collection was a tribute to cultural richness, collaboration, and creativity. An entire ensemble is hand crafted by students of SIFT.
One of the most heartwarming highlights of La Classe fashion show was the Kids’ Sequence, a delightful presentation that beautifully captured the essence of this year’s theme, Fusion of Cultures. Participants from Suryadatta Primary School between the ages of 5 to 9 years graced the ramp with remarkable confidence, poise, and enthusiasm, leaving the audience in awe.
Dressed in vibrant, culturally inspired ensembles, the little stars showcased not only creativity in fashion but also a sense of pride in cultural diversity. Their spirited walk, cheerful expressions, and natural flair for performance reflected the rigorous practice and joyful collaboration between parents, mentors, and the team at Suryadatta Institute of Fashion Technology.
“Best Theme of the 13th La Classe” award was bagged by ‘India Meets the World’. And Runner-up trophy was awarded to ‘Indian Mythology Meets Global Folklore’. The designers of this theme namely Ms.Anjali Jiwane, Ms.Sanika Phadtare and Ms.Vaishali Lendave.
The Best Designers award from the seven unique sub-themes was conferred to Ms.Sonal Bhorade, Ms.Gauri Shewale, Ms.Vaishnavi Bhandare, Ms.Anjali Jiwane, Ms.Shubhangi Karale and Ms.Pournima Kamble respectively.

The Pune Institute of Applied Technology (PIAT) proudly presents its annual exhibition, AURA — a vibrant showcase capturing the transformative journey of Interior Design students over two years of creativity, innovation, and learning.
Each edition of AURA revolves around a unique theme. For 2025, the exhibition paid tribute to the legendary Maratha warrior, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, commemorating the 350th anniversary of his coronation. The theme reimagined his era through the lens of contemporary design.
From initial concept sketches to life-size models, mood boards to technical drawings — the exhibition traced the evolution of a designer from imagination to execution.
As visitors moved through the thoughtfully curated spaces, they encountered installations inspired by majestic forts, royal palaces, and enduring traditions — all reinterpreted with sustainable, modern aesthetics. Every display told a story — a narrative shaped by young designers pushing creative boundaries.
More than just an exhibition, AURA 2025 served as a vibrant dialogue between emerging talent and the professional world. Architects, interior designers, builders, influencers, and product vendors engaged deeply with the work on display, creating invaluable opportunities for networking, internships, and future collaborations.
Bollywood Meets Campus: Ganesh Acharya Inspires Suryadatta Students
“If given the right opportunity, Marathi youth can shine in Bollywood too,” said renowned Bollywood actor, director, and choreographer Ganesh Acharya. He was speaking at a special interactive session with students, organized by Suryadatta Group of Institutes, where he was conferred the prestigious Suryadatta National Award.
Ganesh Acharya highlighted his recent film “Pintu Ki Pappi”, featuring a promising young Marathi actor Sushant Thamke.“He is a talented artist who has come up through hardships. I’ve seen great potential in him. Many actors from cities like Delhi, Bhopal, and Punjab find space in Bollywood—why not Maharashtra’s youth? If given the right platform, Marathi artists can certainly leave a lasting impact in the industry,” he added.
The event took place at Suryadatta’s Bavdhan Campus, in the presence of Founder President Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordia, Vice President Smt. Sushma Chordia, Associate Vice President Snehal Navlakha, and CEO Akshit Kushal, along with principals, heads of departments, faculty, staff, and a large number of students.
As part of the celebration, the Suryadatta Excellence Awards were also presented to actor Sushant Thamke, actress Janya Joshi, and Vidhi Yadav for their contributions to the entertainment field.
Sushant Thamke expressed heartfelt gratitude: “I did my college education right here in Pune, so promoting my debut film in Pune’s colleges is a dream come true. My journey from Nanded to Pune to Mumbai has been full of challenges. But it was Ganesh Acharya who gave me a golden opportunity, for which I will always be thankful. I hope audiences enjoy and support our film, which releases worldwide on March 21.”
Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordia, in his remarks, said: “Suryadatta offers a variety of academic programs related to film, media, and performing arts. That’s why we often host film promotion teams before movie releases, which gives our students real-world exposure and motivation. Many of our students have already stepped into the film industry. If their talent is recognized and nurtured with the right platform, they too can achieve success. Ganesh Acharya’s journey and his support to emerging artists are truly inspirational.”
Suryadatta Pays Tribute to Padma Vibhushan Dr. Jayant Narlikar
The Suryadatta Group of Institutes organized a heartfelt tribute meeting in memory of Padma Vibhushan Dr. Jayant Narlikar, a legendary astrophysicist, science communicator, and an inspiration to generations of learners. The condolence gathering saw participation from renowned IT expert Dr. Deepak Shikarpur, Founder President of Suryadatta Education Foundation Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordiya, Vice President and Secretary Mrs. Sushama Chordiya, COO Mr. Akshit Kushal, Dean Dr. Pratiksha Wable, Prof. Manisha Kumbhar, along with directors, principals, faculty, and staff members from various departments.
Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordiya, in his tribute, shared: “Dr. Jayant Narlikar and Dr. Mangala Narlikar shared a special association with Suryadatta. Their passing is a profound loss to our academic family. Dr. Jayant Narlikar was honoured with the ‘Suryadatta National Lifetime Achievement Award’ in 2008, and Dr. Mangala Narlikar received the same honour in 2017. Under Dr. Narlikar’s guidance, several educational visits from our institutes were organized at IUCAA (Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics), making the experience intellectually enriching and inspiring. Dr. Narlikar often graced our events as a source of inspiration. It was Dr. Mangala Narlikar who inaugurated the Aryabhatta Auditorium at Suryadatta.” “To honour his legacy, Suryadatta will offer annual scholarships in Dr. Narlikar’s name to the toppers in science subjects from CBSE and State Board (Class 10 and 12).”
Dr. Deepak Shikarpur, while reminiscing, said:
“I consider myself fortunate to have worked alongside Dr. Jayant Narlikar at the Tata Institute. He had the rare ability to explain complex subjects such as astronomy, space science, mathematics, and astrophysics in the simplest of ways, making them accessible to the common man. He dedicated his life to science communication. He is also the reason behind my passion for writing. A former President of the All India Marathi Literary Conference, he continued to engage with audiences online even during ill health. I recommend that Suryadatta organize a literary conference to celebrate his literary and scientific legacy.”
Mr. Prashant Pitalia, Ms. Harshada Kumbhar, and Ms. Anagha Sawant also shared their heartfelt memories and reflections.
Suryadatta Organizes Candle March in Tribute to Pahalgam Terror Attack Victims
Suryadatta Group of Institutes organized a solemn candle march to pay tribute to the innocent victims of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Under the guidance of Founder President Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordiya and Vice President & Secretary Mrs. Sushma Chordiya, over 1000 students, teaching and non-teaching staff joined the march from Suryadatta’s Bavdhan campus to Chandni Chowk, spreading a message of peace, humanity, and national unity.
Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordia stated,“Suryadatta stands in solidarity with the families affected by the tragedy. Through education and social action, we continue to nurture values of compassion, justice, and constitutional integrity.”
Placards with messages condemning violence and promoting unity were held high as members of Suryadatta Law College, SCMIRT, SIMMC, SCHMTT, SCPHR, SIICS, SIHS-COP, SIBMT, SCNPST, and others walked in unison. The event was coordinated under the Suryadatta Global Army initiative by Dr. Monika Sehrawat.
During the event: A two-minute silence was observed for the departed souls, Students and faculty took an oath for peace and social harmony, Emotional reflections were shared by students and dignitaries including Snehal Navlakha, Dr. Arif Sheikh, Dr. Sayali Pandey, Vandana Pandey, and Ketki Bapat.
The initiative showcased Suryadatta’s dedication to building socially responsible citizens and its unwavering stand against violence, hatred, and injustice.

Suryadatta Shaurya Puraskar to be Presented Annually in Honour of Martyrs Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev & Rajguru
In memory of the great martyrs Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru, Suryadatta Education Foundation’s Suryadatta College of Law has announced the institution of the “Suryadatta Shaurya Puraskar”, to be awarded annually on the occasion of Shaheed Diwas (Martyrs’ Day). Founder President Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordia announced that the award, carrying a cash prize of ₹11,000, will be presented to outstanding individuals from each batch of the college who excel in academics, internships, or social initiatives. He also delivered an inspiring address to the students.
As a mark of respect, tributes were paid to the legendary revolutionaries Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru at Suryadatta. Moved by the motivating words of Dr. Chordia, students pledged to pursue excellence in their fields and contribute meaningfully to society. The ceremony concluded with the chanting of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”, followed by a minute of silence to honor the martyrs. Principal Dr. Sanjay Maniyar was also present on the occasion.
In his address, Dr. Chordia said:“The sacrifice of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru is a source of profound inspiration for all of us. At a very young age, they chose to give their lives for the nation. Their lives embody the spirit of courage, patriotism, and sacrifice. They should not only be remembered as martyrs, but as true heroes of sacrifice. Their role in India’s freedom struggle is incomparable, and we must never forget their contribution.”
He further urged the youth to take inspiration from these revolutionaries and contribute to building a better nation. “Back then, the country was under foreign rule, but even today we face challenges—social, economic, and environmental. Students must equip themselves with the right knowledge and life skills to address these. Stay updated, cultivate discipline, read regularly, and avoid overdependence on technology,” he advised.
The program was compered by Shrutika Pawar and Nipun Mishra. Prof. Vijaydeep Munjankar delivered remarks on behalf of the faculty, while Prof. Ketaki Bapat proposed the vote of thanks. Students Vidula Jambhekar, Deepali Ughade, Grishma Surana, Nitin Solanki, Sameera Nadaf, Preeti Dhembre, Anusha Kulkarni, and Soumya Bharti also shared their thoughts during the event.

SCNPST – Health & Career Awareness at Khed Shivapur
Suryadatta College of Nursing & Paramedical Sciences Technology, Bavdhan, held a health and career awareness program at Shivbhumi Junior College, Khed Shivapur. Students learned about hygiene, healthy lifestyles, and career opportunities in ANM & GNM nursing. The day ended with free health check-ups for villagers, reflecting Suryadatta’s commitment to education with social responsibility.

Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordia remarked that this act deepened students’ respect for the police force, while Mrs. Sushma S. Chordia emphasized that such initiatives nurture responsible citizens. Police officials, in turn, shared valuable guidance on self-defense and safety awareness, making the celebration both meaningful and inspiring.
