About TechFest
The TechFest, a three-day National Level Symposium event encompassed a wide array of technology and innovation-focused activities aimed at the advancement of technology for societal betterment. TechFes addressed critical areas of management and technology, including time management, the utilization of appropriate computing tools, and their applications. Students’ programming skills were thoroughly assessed during the competition. The technical event was meticulously designed to bridge the knowledge gap between academia and industry.
Objectives of the Event:
- To provide a platform for learners to apply their knowledge in solving complex computing problems relevant to contemporary needs, thereby enhancing their analytical, logical, technical, and problem-solving skills, while also fostering innovation and entrepreneurial capabilities.
- To instill an independent working attitude while also encouraging teamwork and leadership for achieving defined goals.
- To facilitate the use of modern computing tools and resources.
- To develop project management and event management skills among students.
TechFest was not merely a technical festival but a platform for students to explore their creativity and carve a path towards a brighter future. It provided students with an opportunity to experience diverse aspects of professional life. A multitude of events aligned with technology and innovation enabled students to unleash their creativity for a better tomorrow.
Under TechFest, five key events were organised, namely:
Mr. & Ms. TechnoCrats was formally inaugurated in the presence of an external jury, event coordinators, and participants. The event comprised multiple rounds, including an MCQ test covering technical, logical, and general knowledge, followed by an extempore session and an extra-curricular flair round. These rounds assessed a diverse range of skills, including soft and hard skills, aptitude, and domain knowledge. Contestants showcased their domain expertise, presentation skills, and extra-curricular talents, evaluated by an internal and external jury panel.
Mindsweeper was a software development competition that encouraged participants to bring innovative perspectives and solutions to real-world problems. Teams presented software solutions addressing various challenges, fostering creativity and technical problem-solving.
Battle with Code was a multi-stage programming competition. The first round consisted of an online MCQ test based on logical and technical questions. Qualified candidates proceeded to the second round, where they had to identify and correct errors/bugs in a given program. The final case study round involved solving a complex problem through error-free coding in Python, Java, and C++ within a stipulated time.
DesignFire was a User Interface Design competition conducted in two rounds. Participants designed UI/UX interfaces using HTML, CSS, and WordPress, based on specific themes. The event aimed to encourage creativity, innovation, and excellence in UI design by challenging participants to develop visually appealing, user-friendly, and functional interfaces.
GameGlider provided a platform for gaming enthusiasts to exhibit their skills in online gaming competitions, including Valorant and BGMI. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students who enjoyed the gaming challenges.
TechFest witnessed participation from across the Pune region, along with 500+ in-house students from various courses at Suryadatta Group of Institutes.
The ERP system was extensively utilized for seamless execution, including registration, communication, MCQ rounds, and result announcements. Top-performing students were rewarded with individual and group cash prizes, trophies, and certificates, with awards categorized separately for in-house and external participants.
